The heat emerging from the 3 engines, partly by means of cooling water but mainly by means of exchangers utilizing the energy within the exhaust, is used in the malting plant, primarily for the kilns and secondarily for other purposes such as heating of the steeping water when required.

The electric power generated is led to the public power supply.
