| KILNING
After germination for six days, the green malt is conveyed to the kilns, which are loaded automatically.
Dragsbaek Maltfabrik A/S has at its disposal horizontal and vertical kilns with a total daily capacity of
370 tonnes.
The malt is kilned by air which has been indirectly heated by passing heat-exchangers containing pressurized water at a temperature of 120°C. Indirectly heated kilns, in combination with the unpolluted
intake-air, secure an extremely low concentration of sulphur-dioxide and nitrosamines in the malt.
Dragsbaek Maltfabrik A/S operates its own 22MW powerplant.
