Upon completion of the steeping process, which takes about 40 hours, the barley is steeped into the germination box. Each germination box is equipped with separate turning devices, fans and cooling systems.

The germination process is checked and monitored centrally by the production staff. Fresh and return air is mixed automatically according to the preset and desired conditions.

Cooling coils with ground water at max. 8°C in combination with NH3-refrigeration - the capacity of which is 2MW -  control the air temperature.
